For trees more than 2 years of age, in short they have a root system. Which means they are more established and have experienced most of the severe conditions that can be thrown its way in your environment.
These trees can now withstand wider variations of watering schedules. However we still recommend when you do water them to keep to the basics. Which is not to over water with soggy techniques but to keep the soil moist.
